CAWB Celebrates 100 Days Occupation
On Monday, 28 October 2013, CAWB celebrated its first 100 days of occupying the historic Thompson Square. To date, over ninety ‘occupiers’ have taken turns to man the Square, on four hour shifts, 24 hours a day.
CAWB Chairman Mr Dail Miller has declared the Occupation an extraordinary success and notes that so far at least four and half thousand people have approached the occupiers and asked to sign a letter to the Premier.
On Saturday, 2 November, CAWB and its supporters were joined in the Square by Greens' Senator Lee Rhiannon and NSW Greens, Mehreen Faruqi MLC to celebrate this milestone, and to congratulate and acknowledge the fantastic commitment of the growing number of supporters and community members who are involved in a protest that is believed to be a unique and unprecedented protest for the Hawkesbury.
If you would like to join CAWB in its occupation of the Square, please contact us here and we will happily add your name to the ever growing list of volunteers. Don’t miss out on your chance to make history!
