Lilburndale
Situated on the corner of Bridge and George St, this prominent building is a fine example of Victorian Regency architecture . Built in 1856 by Dr Joshua Dowe, the building went on to become St Katherine's School for Young Ladies. From 1875 it then became Windsor Grammar School, before returning to a private residence for Dr J. Callaghan in 1887, and Brinsley Hall MLA in 1901. Between 1922 and 1934 the building housed Craignish Maternity Hospital. Many locals today still remember the milk bar that was built on the front verandah in 1975.
